GGUSD Recognizes Nearly 600 Employees for Longstanding Years of Service

Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) honored nearly 600 employees for their years of service at the Annual Employee Recognition Program on December 13 at the district’s Don Wash Auditorium.  One GGUSD employee received a special recognition for dedicating an impressive 45 years to the district, and another three employees were honored for their 40 years of service.

“Most employees come to our district and stay because GGUSD has a wonderful family culture,” said Board of Education Trustee Lan Nguyen who was recognized for 20 years of service to the district. “GGUSD is proud of its employees who dedicate their entire careers with us. These longtime employees are sincerely committed to our students and our communities.”

The employee with 45 years of service is Louise Gustafson, Adult Education Center teacher at Lincoln Education Center.  Those with 40 years include Lori Feher, Instructional Assistant II – Special Education at Heritage; Lucy Romero, Instructional Aide at Riverdale; and Emilio Trujillo, Grounds Equipment Operator II.

An outstanding group of 13 employees were honored for 35 years of service including: Danette Auxier, Teacher at Evans; Bonnie Corona, Library Media Technician at Mitchell; Anthony Do, Head Custodian at Brookhurst; Margaret Garcia, Instructional Aide Spanish at Hazard; Mirella Gutierrez, School-Community Liaison Spanish at Cook; Linda Kaskla, Teacher at Riverdale; Paul Kemp, Plant Supervisor II at Los Amigos; Dang Nguyen, Instructional Aide Vietnamese at Lawrence; Nancy Ortez, Instructional Assistant II – Special Education at La Quinta; Kathy Ramirez, Instructional Aide at Alamitos; Viola Singletary, Student Supervision Assistant at Lawrence; Darrell Wall Jr., Head Custodian at Allen; and Robert Zulauf, Teacher at Pacifica.

District administrators and Board of Education members celebrated 30 employees for 30 years of service and 122 employees for 25 years of service.  Hundreds of employees received pins for 10, 15, and 20 years of service.
