2025 Online Summer Resources for Students and Parents

Summer, 2025

Dear Parents,
As summer begins, we encourage families to help students stay engaged and prepared for the 2025–26 school year. As we do each summer, GGUSD has compiled a variety of free online resources for students in grades K–12, including access to digital textbooks, learning platforms, and parent support tools. Students may use these tools, found below, to preview the next year’s  content across subjects so they can be prepared for the academic year to come or to review concepts from the past school year they have yet to master!

Students can continue math practice and preview upcoming concepts using the digital textbooks for the 2025–26 school year using the links below. Students can also use their own log-in from this school year to access their current year’s textbooks. We encourage students to practice 20–30 minutes a day and looking ahead at next year’s grade level textbooks can be helpful.

SUMMER LEARNING & WELLNESS RESOURCES FOR FAMILIES

Help your child stay on track and build confidence for the new school year with these available resources.

We suggest students continue reading daily for at least 30 to 40 minutes during summer. Below are suggested reading lists for students by grade level. We recommend visits to the public library during summer and have provided the locations for the Public Libraries within Orange County.

Reading Lists for Grades K-12: https://ocpl.org/kids/read/book-lists

OC Public Library Locations: https://ocpl.org/libraries

During the summer months, we suggest you continue to minimize television viewing (unless it is educational) and have your child write in a journal every day to keep his/her writing skills sharp for the upcoming year. Have your child write letters to family members in different states or countries, express his or her feelings, write stories or poems and even summaries of the books s/he is reading. Writing is a muscle that we want to make sure stays strong during summer and is ready for school in the Fall.

In addition to the resources above, we have a list of websites that make summer learning fun.
