Health and Safety Reminders - January 21, 2022

Friday, January 21, 2022

Dear Families,

We know that the Omicron surge causes many hardships for our community and we thank you for abiding by district protocols that are working to ensure that our schools are the safest place for students to learn. Our Health and Safety webpage has important instructions families should follow including the OCHCA Symptom Decision Tree and an easy-to-follow quarantine and isolation guide.

GGUSD schools are doing everything possible to create a safe learning environment including universal masking, cleaning and disinfecting protocols, frequent handwashing, tracking positive COVID cases, offering on-site testing, and more. Additionally each student should have received or soon will receive a free at-home test kit with 2 rapid antigen tests. Information about these tests can be found on our website here.  If you haven’t already, every household is also encouraged to order 4 free test kits from the federal government using this website: https://www.covidtests.gov/.

Please remember that, while families should keep children home from school if the student tests positive for COVID-19, has symptoms of COVID-19 or was a close contact due to an exposure in the home, in all other cases, students should continue to attend school daily.

Thank you for continuing to work together with us as partners as we get through this current Omicron surge.
