End of Year Update

Dear GGUSD Parents,

As you know, Friday, June 12 is the last day of the 2019-2020 school year. We are extremely grateful for the tremendous support of GGUSD parents who worked alongside us to implement distance learning during this unprecedented health crisis.  Before summer break begins, we wanted to send out a few important reminders:

  • Survey: GGUSD has mailed all parents/guardians a Scantron survey (along with a pencil and pre-stamped return envelope) for each student enrolled in our district. We cannot stress how important it is that you complete this survey and return it to us to ensure GGUSD develops a plan to reopen schools that will serve the needs of our communities. We generally receive a 90% return rate on Scantron surveys versus a 10% return rate for online surveys which is why we selected to send our survey via Scantron.

  • Grab and Go Meals: The Grab and Go meal program to support students during distance learning for this school year ends Wednesday, June 10. 

  • Summer School: GGUSD summer school programs will be offered in an online distance learning format. Click here for an overview of our summer programs. Students are invited to participate in summer school based on academic need as identified by their teacher or counselor. Families have already received invitations to summer school and enrollment confirmation is sent in early June. While you may have heard Governor Newsom announce that schools can reopen as early as June 12, GGUSD will not resume in-person class until the first day of the 2020-2021 school year on August 24.  It is also important to note that the stay-at-home order and restrictions on public gatherings remain in place.

We know that when students return to school, there will be new health and safety protocols. As we formulate our reopening plan using your survey feedback, guidelines from the state and county, and input from stakeholders, we are committed to keeping you informed every step of the way.  Expect regular updates from the district sent via ParentSquare.  If you have questions/concerns, do not hesitate to contact our district Helpline at 714-598-6366.

Actualización sobre el fin del año escolar

Estimados padres de familia del GGUSD:

Como ustedes saben, el viernes, 12 de junio es el último día del año escolar 2019-2020. Estamos extremadamente agradecidos por el tremendo apoyo de los padres de familia del GGUSD, que trabajaron junto con nosotros para implementar el aprendizaje a distancia durante esta crisis de salud sin precedentes. Antes de que empiecen las vacaciones de verano, queremos informarles sobre algunos recordatorios importantes:

  • La encuesta: El GGUSD ha enviado por correo a todos los padres de familia y tutores una encuesta con una planilla de respuestas (junto con un lápiz y un sobre con la estampilla postal prepagada para que la regresen gratuitamente) por cada alumno inscrito en nuestro Distrito. No podemos enfatizar cuan importante es que ustedes llenen esta encuesta y nos la regresen para asegurar que el GGUSD desarrolle un plan para reabrir las escuelas que cumpla con las necesidades de nuestras comunidades. Generalmente, recibimos un 90% de las encuestas cuando se responden por medio de una planilla de respuestas, en comparación a un 10% si se responden en línea, por esta razón, decidimos enviar nuestra encuesta por correo con una planilla de respuestas.

  • El Programa de Distribución de Comidas para Recoger y Llevar (Grab and Go Meals): Este programa para apoyar a los alumnos durante el aprendizaje a distancia, de este año escolar, termina el miércoles, 10 de junio.

  • Las clases de verano: Los programas de las clases de verano del GGUSD se ofrecerán en un formato en línea de aprendizaje a distancia. Hagan clic aqui para ver un resumen de nuestros programas de verano.Los alumnos están invitados a participar en las clases de verano de acuerdo a sus necesidades académicas según las hayan identificado sus maestros o consejeros.  Las familias ya han recibido las invitaciones para participar en las clases de verano y la confirmación de la inscripción se manda a principios de junio. Para recibir más información, comuníquense con la Oficina de Servicios de Instrucción K-6 al 714-663-6188 o a la Oficina de Servicios de Instrucción 7-12 al 714-663-6454.

Aunque ustedes hayan escuchado al gobernador Newsom anunciar que las escuelas pueden volver a abrirse de nuevo a partir del 12 de junio, el GGUSD no reanudará las clases en persona hasta el primer día de clases del año escolar 2020-2021, que será el 24 de agosto. También es importante tomar en cuenta que la orden de quedarse en casa y las restricciones para las reuniones públicas siguen en pie.

Sabemos que cuando los alumnos regresen a la escuela, habrá protocolos nuevos para la salud y la seguridad. Mientras trabajamos en el plan de reapertura usando sus sugerencias proporcionadas en la encuesta, las directrices del estado y del condado, y las sugerencias de las partes interesadas, tenemos el compromiso de mantenerlos informados sobre cada paso que demos.  Esperen actualizaciones con regularidad del Distrito por medio de ParentSquare.  Si tienen preguntas o inquietudes, no duden en llamar a nuestra línea de ayuda del Distrito al 714-598-6366.

 

 

Cập nhật cuối năm học

Thưa Quý Phụ Huynh GGUSD,

Như quý vị biết, năm học 2019-2020 sẽ kết thúc vào thứ Sáu, ngày 12 tháng 6. Chúng tôi rất biết ơn sự hỗ trợ lớn lao của quý phụ huynh trong việc đồng hành với chúng tôi để thực hiện việc học tại nhà trong giai đoạn khủng hoảng sức khoẻ chưa từng thấy này. Trước khi nghỉ hè, chúng tôi có một vài điều quan trọng cần nhắc quý vị nhớ:

  • Phiếu Thăm Dò Ý Kiến: GGUSD đã gửi đến tất cả phụ huynh/giám hộ phiếu trả lời thăm dò trên Scantron cho từng con em ghi danh học tại Học Khu (cùng với bút chì và bì thư đã dán tem sẵn để hồi đáp) Chúng tôi không biết diễn tả thế nào về tầm quan trọng của bản thăm dò này nên rất mong quý vị điền và gửi lại cho chúng tôi nhằm giúp học khu có thể dựa vào đó mà soạn thảo việc mở cửa trường trở lại để phục vụ cộng đồng. Thông thường chúng tôi nhận được 90% phiếu trả lời thăm dò trên Scantron so với chỉ 10% nếu làm trên mạng. Do đó chúng tôi chọn cách gửi phiếu về nhà theo đường bưu điện.

  • Chương Trình Cung CấpThức Ăn – Đến Lấy Mang Đi: Chương trình đến nhận thức ăn mang về nhằm giúp học sinh trong thời gian học ở nhà sẽ chấm dứt vào thứ tư, ngày 10 tháng sáu.

  • Học hè: Chương trình hè của GGUSD sẽ được tiến hành trên mạng. Bấm vào đây để xem các chương trình hè. Học sinh được mời tham gia học hè dựa theo nhu cầu học tập do giáo viên hoặc tư vấn học đường đề nghị. Các gia đình đã nhận giấy cho con em tham dự lớp hè và việc ghi danh đã được xác nhận vào đầu tháng sáu.   • Có lẽ quý vị đã nghe thống đốc Newsom thông báo về việc các trường có thể mở cửa lại vào ngày 12 tháng 6, nhưng GGUSD sẽ chỉ mở lại các lớp học vào ngày 24 tháng 8 khi bắt đầu năm học mới 2020-2021. Điều quan trọng là lệnh ở nhà và giới hạn các cuộc tụ tập đông người vẫn còn hiệu lực.

Chúng tôi biết rằng khi học sinh trở lại lớp, những quy định mới về y tế và sự an toàn sẽ được áp dụng. Dựa trên các góp ý trong phiếu thăm dò của quý vị, cùng những hướng dẫn của tiểu bang, hạt và của các thành viên trong cộng đồng chúng tôi sẽ thảo ra kế hoạch cụ thể và hứa sẽ thông báo để quý vị rõ về từng bước.
