Murdy Elementary – Vietnamese Dual Immersion

Welcome to Murdy Elementary – Vietnamese Dual Immersion Program!  We are an existing school that provides English only instruction for grades TK-6.  We opened the Vietnamese dual immersion strand in 2018-19. In the 2024-25 school year, our dual immersion program will be TK-6. The entry point in dual immersion is Transitional Kindergarten or Kindergarten only. If your child is currently enrolled in a dual immersion program and you would like to apply and be considered for another grade level you will be contacted to set up an appointment with the school principal. We will be hosting our orientation meetings in November and January for next year’s enrollment.  We accept applications from across and outside the district for incoming transitional kindergarten or kindergarten students.  Below is the application process:

1. Attend an orientation meeting – RSVP to secure your seat
2. Complete the dual language supplemental application after you have attended an orientation meeting and turn it in before the priority enrollment period ends on January 31^st
3. If applicants exceed capacity, a random lottery will take place after the priority enrollment period
4. Applications that come in after January 31^st will be placed in date order after the last lottery number
5. If you are selected for the program, you will need to follow additional steps
