GGUSD to Offer Free Summer Meals

Summer Meals

The Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) is offering its annual free Summer Meal program to help ensure that children have access to nutritional meals when school is not in session. The program will provide free summer meals to GGUSD students at 14 school campuses and two library sites.

The program is available through the National School Lunch Seamless Summer food service program and does not require enrollment.  Lunches, provided at no charge, are designed to meet a student’s nutritional needs. A typical lunch may include a submarine sandwich, pizza, popcorn chicken, mini cheeseburger sliders, yogurt, choice of fruits and vegetables from the salad bar, juice and milk.  Last year, GGUSD served more than 114,600 summer meals through the program.

Breakfast and lunch meals will also be provided for free to students participating in GGUSD Summer School and Summer Extended Learning Programs.

Summer meals are also available at 14 GGUSD school campuses and through Lunch at the Library for children age 18 and under or individuals with disabilities in the GGUSD community who are not participating in GGUSD Summer School or Summer Extended Learning Programs.
