GGUSD Launches New After-School Career Experiences for Students
- Friday, December 5, 2025
Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) is pleased to announce the launch of new after-school career exploration experiences in three of its most popular Career and Technical Education (CTE) Career Pathways, including automotive, culinary arts, and skilled trades.
The hands-on experiences will run during two sessions (Session 1: January 20 – February 26, Session 2: March 24 – April 30, 3:45 – 5:15 PM), taking place Tuesdays and Thursdays at Rancho Alamitos High School. All GGUSD students in grades 8–12 are invited to participate and build valuable workplace skills through engaging, project-based learning taught by industry experts.
As part of the program, students will gain an in-depth look at exciting career options and industry-recognized certifications. The initiative was developed in direct response to student input and growing interest in exploring future career fields.
“GGUSD continues to strengthen its Career and Technical Education offerings so that every student is equipped with the skills, confidence, and experiences they need to thrive in their future career endeavors,” said Board of Education Trustee Teri Rocco. “We are proud to expand access to high-quality learning that aligns with students’ interests and aspirations.”
GGUSD currently offers 15 robust Career Pathways across its eight high schools and CTE STEM courses at all 10 intermediate schools. This new opportunity allows students to sample pathways that may not be available at their home campus or to deepen their knowledge alongside peers who share similar career aspirations. Transportation will be provided to participating students as needed.
For more information, students and families are encouraged to contact the CTE Office at 714-663-6497.
