GGUSD Celebrates Employees for Longstanding Service

Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) honored more than 560 employees for their years of service at the Annual Employee Recognition Program on December 11 at the district’s Don Wash Auditorium.  Three GGUSD employee received a special recognition for dedicating an impressive 40 years to the district, and one employee was honored for 45 years of service.

“What makes GGUSD special is the commitment of our extraordinary employees who are deeply committed to supporting the success of our students and families,” said Board of Education President Teri Rocco. “We are truly grateful for employees who devote their careers to GGUSD, serve our students, and contribute to our incredible culture.”


The employees with 40 years of service are James Berrier, Pacifica High School teacher; Edith Dimmick, bus driver; and Rolf-Peter Frey, Bolsa Grande High School teacher. The employee with 45 years of service is Kurt Lucas, head custodian at Crosby Elementary School.


An outstanding group of 21 employees were honored for 35 years of service; 55 employees were honored for 30 years of service; and 124 employees were honored for 25 years of service. Hundreds of employees received pins for 10, 15, and 20 years of service.
