All seven comprehensive high schools in Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) have been named to the 2025 Advanced Placement (AP) School Honor Roll by College Board, with each one receiving either Gold, Silver, or Bronze distinctions. The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students while broadening participation,

La Quinta High School received the Gold distinction; Bolsa Grande, Garden Grove, Pacifica, and Rancho Alamitos High schools received Silver distinction; while Los Amigos and Santiago High Schools received the Bronze Distinction.

“Our Advanced Placement success reflects more than strong test scores—it represents a district-wide commitment to high expectations, meaningful support, and opportunity for every student,” said Board of Education President Bob Harden. “Through the dedication of our educators and administrators, we are not only expanding access to rigorous coursework, but also equipping students with the skills and confidence they need for college, careers, and lifelong success.”

Schools can earn the AP Honor Roll recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.

During the 2024-25 school year GGUSD students took 9,353 AP exams, had an average pass rate of 81%, and earned an average score of 3.5.
