Distance Learning in the 2021-2022 School Year

Dear Families, Students and Staff,

Since reopening all schools for in-person instruction, we have seen growing evidence that schools are safe and classrooms are the best place for students to learn. Positive cases of COVID-19 remain low and isolated and students are making great strides with academic growth. With COVID-19 rates on the decline in the community, we are committed to our district goal of providing in-person instruction to as many students as possible.  

Given these facts, we will not be offering school-based distance learning beginning in the 2021-2022 school year.

As previously announced, all schools are returning to 5 full days of in-person instruction in the fall.   Those who wish to continue with distance learning in the fall may apply for the district’s Virtual Learning Academy. More details regarding the application and enrollment process will be shared in the weeks to come.  Additionally, our schools continue to welcome back those students currently on distance learning who decide to return for in-person instruction.

As we plan for the 2021-2022 school year, we will continue to follow guidance from the CDPH and OCHCA and modify our protocols based on the most current guidance. The health, safety and wellbeing of our students, staff and families remains our priority. Thank you for doing your part to keep our schools safe.
