HOMEGROWN
Homegrown employees are those who attended schools in the district as students before returning to work in the district as employees. The “GGUSD Homegrown” campaign has already garnered interest from nearly 500 employees who shared their stories through an online form. Some of these stories will be spotlighted on the district’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram social media accounts.

Ashley Stevens
Ashley Stevens is #GGUSDHomegrown
Ashley is a 7th grade ELA teacher at Walton Intermediate.
She attended Crosby Elementary, Walton Intermediate, and graduated from Garden Grove in 2005.
“Garden Grove will always be my home. My community has always meant a lot to me and there is no other place I would rather work. Every day I feel like I am giving back to a community that has given so much to me. I love how diverse Garden Grove is and I feel extremely fortunate to be able to work in the same community that I grew up in. My favorite thing about GGUSD is its commitment to student success and lifelong learning. It is in Garden Grove that my love for learning started and continues each day. It is because of the great teachers in Garden Grove that I had the opportunity to attend UCLA and return to share my love for learning as a teacher."
Ashley has been teaching in GGUSD since 2015.
