Microsoft Office 365
Garden Grove Unified School District is excited to support our students' success by providing all enrolled students with up to five full copies of Microsoft Office 365 at no cost. Students can download and use this software at home on a PC, Mac or mobile device thanks to our partnership with Microsoft.
Microsoft Office 365 is only available to the students while they remain with Garden Grove Unified School District. Once the students leave the district, the software installed on the computer(s) will deactivate.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Microsoft has recently updated its licensing agreement for education entities. As a result, the ability to download the 5 copies of Office 365 is only available for students. Staff will continue to have access to Microsoft Office 365 web version.
Please review the instructions carefully:
For Students
1. Click here to go to the Microsoft Office 365 download page.
2. Download and install the application onto your computer.
3. Launch an Microsoft application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and there should be a screen asking you to sign in.
4. Students will be able to use their existing Google Apps for Education account to activate Microsoft Office 365. Put in your email address and password and click Sign in.
The following is an example of a student account:
Username: 19jsmith@ggusd.net
Password: (student current Google password)
5. You will be asked about staying signed in to all of your apps. Leave the "Allow my organization to manage my device" unchecked. Click Ok.
6. You should see the "You're all set" screen. Click Done and your Office 365 is now fully activated!
For Staff Members
Staff members will be able to use their District email account to log into Microsoft Office 365 and use the web version of Office suite.
1. Click here to go to the Microsoft Office 365 web portal.
2. Enter your GGUSD work email account.
The following is an example of a staff account:
Username: jsmith@ggusd.us
Password: (Current District email password)
*Note: If you are an employee who does not have an official District email account, please use the following login:
Username: jsmith@ggusd.net
Password: (current District computer login password)
3. The Apps dashboard will present all applications assigned to you.
Tips: You can group important applications into collections to simplify your layout.
