Garden Grove Unified School District’s Board of Education took action to extend the suspension of in-person classes through the end of the school year, June 12. This decision came at the recommendation of the Orange County Department of Education in accordance with Governor Newsom’s and State Superintendent Thurmond’s guidance that cancelling in-person classes for the remainder of the year will help flatten the curve and reduce the spread of COVID-19.

GGUSD will continue to provide high-quality distance learning following its regularly-scheduled spring recess April 6-10. Families can find resources to support at-home learning at https://ggusd.us/covidresources.  Additionally, following the break GGUSD will continue to provide free meals to students through its Grab and Go meal program offered at 13 locations on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

“We remain committed to ensuring students and families are supported during this challenging time,” said Teri Rocco, Board of Education vice president.  “We are very proud that our employees continue to rise to the occasion, and have done an amazing job dedicating their time and energy into providing students with a high quality distance learning experience and conducting wellness checks to support the socio-emotional well-being of our scholars during this unprecedented public health crisis.”
