Garden Grove Unified School District Board of Education Holds Swearing-In Ceremony

At its December 13 Board of Education meeting, the Garden Grove Unified School District held a swearing-in ceremony, marking the beginning of a four-year term for newly-elected trustees Walter Muneton and Dina Nguyen, as well as returning trustee Teri Rocco.

Rocco is a former GGUSD teacher and supervisor of the district’s parent and community outreach program. Muneton is a proud graduate of Santiago High School and has worked as a caseworker and truancy reduction officer for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Garden Grove. Nguyen is an attorney and serves on the board of directors for the Orange County Water District.

During the meeting, members also voted to elect longtime trustee Lan Nguyen as its board president and Bob Harden as vice president.

This is the first year that the GGUSD Board of Education trustees were elected by trustee area. Board of Education members by trustee area are: Teri Rocco for Area 1, Lan Nguyen for Area 2, Walter Muneton for Area 3, Bob Harden for Area 4, and Dina Nguyen for Area 5.
